ambientais e econ{\^o}micos. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi
identificar e mensurar as vari{\'a}veis relevantes para
elabora{\c{c}}{\~a}o do Mapa de risco a inunda{\c{c}}{\~a}o no
Munic{\'{\i}}pio de Rio Grande Serra/SP (MRGS), dentre elas:
precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o, declividade, hipsometria, relevo,
pedologia e solos. Com o geoprocessamento tornou-se
poss{\'{\i}}vel a realiza{\c{c}}{\~a}o dos mapeamentos dessas
vari{\'a}veis, bem como a elabora{\c{c}}{\~a}o do mapa das
{\'a}reas suscet{\'{\i}}veis a inunda{\c{c}}{\~a}o. O mapa de
risco {\`a} inunda{\c{c}}{\~a}o do MRGS mostra {\'a}reas de
risco baixo, m{\'e}dio e elevado de inunda{\c{c}}{\~a}o. Os
resultados mostram que o munic{\'{\i}}pio possui um risco baixo
{\`a} ocorr{\^e}ncia de inunda{\c{c}}{\~o}es em 35,78% de sua
extens{\~a}o, 32,65% com risco m{\'e}dio e 31,57% com elevado
risco. Os mapas de risco {\`a} inunda{\c{c}}{\~a}o s{\~a}o
documentos essenciais ao planejamento urbano\territorial e ao
poder p{\'u}blico pois, atrav{\'e}s deles, medidas mitigadoras
podem ser planejadas e desenvolvidas para evitar/reduzir {\^o}nus
{\`a} popula{\c{c}}{\~a}o, {\`a} economia e ao meio ambiente.
ABSTRACT: Floods result in great social, environmental and
economical losses. The purpose of this research was identifying
and measuring the relevant variables to the elaboration of the
flood risk map of Rio Grande da Serra/SP city (RGSC), including
precipitation, slope, hypsometry, relief, pedology and soil type.
Geoprocessing made the mapping of those variables possible, as
well as the map elaboration of flooding susceptible areas. The
flood risk map of RGSC shows areas of low, medium and high risk.
Results show the city has a low risk of flooding in 35.78% of its
extension, medium risk in 32.65% and high risk in 31.57% of it.
Flood risk maps are essential documents for urban/territorial
planning and for the public authorities because mitigating
measures can be planned and developed from them, avoiding/reducing
charges to the population, economy and environment.",
